Install Ubiquiti mFI via APT on Ubuntu Precise Pangolin (12.04).

The new mFi is a full-featured platform consisting of a family of hardware devices that combine environmental reporting and remote machine control and configuration across a unified IP Network with an intuitive, powerful and customizable software interface.

This suite can quite easily installed via APT (under Ubuntu Precise Pangolin in this article).

mFi Controller Package depends on MongoDB 2.0.0 or newer. For this reason, MongoDB has to be installed on the system. A guide on installing MongoDB on Ubuntu Precise Pangolin (12.04) can be found here.

Edit /etc/apt/sources.list and add the following lines:

## Ubuntu Precise (12.04):
deb http://www.ubnt.com/downloads/mfi/distros/deb/precise precise ubiquiti

Add GPG Key (same as UniFi)

apt-key adv --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv C0A52C50

Retrieve latest package information and Install the Package.

apt-get update
apt-get install mfi

The mFi Web User-Interface can be reached via https://:9443/
