Update Linux Kernel to version 3.5 From PPA On Ubuntu 12.04.

The stable version of Linux Kernel 3.5 has been released and comes with many new features and bug fixes.

This kernel has known improvements in support for devices and file systems (ext4).

Here are some other new features:

  • FireWire Target Disk Mode Support.
  • EXT4 supports now CRC32 Meta-Data.
  • Improved support for graphics cards especially nVidia and AMD GPUs.

Remove old Kernels in Ubuntu (the right way)

When running Ubuntu and updating systems frequently, there is a high chance to have old kernel-images (no longer needed) still installed in the system.
If these kernels are not removed, precious hard disk space may be occupied (wasted).
